Last Wednesday night on the 11th July, we joined the amazing team of 300 Blankets, one of our community partners, to walk the city and hand out blankets to those less fortunate than us.
The 300 Blankets team was joined by our players Matt Armstrong, Lliam Webster, Chris Wong, Marcus Wong, Tommy Powell, Rob Clark, Todd Graham, Nathan Cachia , Nate Fleming and Devon Krogh. We left the steps of Flinders Street Station at 7.00pm and completed the city circuit, stopping to offer blankets and basic food supplies to those living on the streets. The boys even sat down for a spirited game of UNO with one thankful man who wanted to chat all night.
This was a special walk put on for our team, in addition to 300 Blankets’ normal weekly circuits, which they have been doing for more than 5 years. We would like to thank Warren at 300 Blankets for leading from the front and making us feel relevant to this important community service.
For all our fans and supporters who also want to be involved, you won’t have to wait long. We are dedicating our game on Sunday, July 29th against the Newcastle North Stars, to 300 Blankets. During the game you will have the opportunity to purchase and gift blankets. Our aim is to raise 300 blankets for 300 Blankets.
